Coldwater

I had a very unexpected and intense experience today that I felt compelled to share. While walking the trail nearby, I experienced a serious heat exhaustion episode that nearly escalated into heat stroke. I was extremely nauseous, disoriented, and on the verge of collapsing when I stumbled into this apartment complex looking for any kind of help. Thankfully, I was met with compassion by a gentleman at the front , a leasing consultant, who immediately asked if I needed anything. At that point, I could barely stand and ended up falling to my knees and vomiting into an empty trash bag under the desk. Dizzy, verge of blacking out. He didn’t panic or make me feel ashamed. Instead, he kindly brought me water and paper towels and continued to check in on me as I apologized and told him my mom was on the way to pick me up. His kindness meant the world to me in that moment. However, while I was sitting and trying to stabilize myself, another woman came from the back and addressed me with such an unexpected level of rudeness. She looked at the tied trash bag I had neatly secured after throwing up, and with a smirk said, “You can take that with you.” I politely responded that I was okay and just waiting for my mom, to which she snidely replied, “Do you think I’m going to throw it away for you?” before pointing to the dumpster outside and insisting I throw it away myself…while I was still sweating, dizzy, and recovering and all I could do was say I’m sorry and throw it away. Let me be clear: this wasn’t a leasing agent or a property manager. This was clearly a maintenance employee, whose job does include keeping the property clean. Of course, it’s not her personal responsibility to deal with my throw-up, but it is absolutely within her role to maintain cleanliness and common decency, especially when someone is visibly in crisis. The issue wasn’t the bag, it was the nasty attitude, the lack of compassion, and the complete failure to acknowledge a medical emergency happening right in front of her. As someone who’s worked in property management, I’m honestly shocked. I would never treat anyone like that. Resident or not! People remember how you made them feel, especially in vulnerable moments. Today was a reminder that kindness costs nothing, and not everyone is capable of offering it. Whether she was maintenance or not, decency doesn’t require a title. To the gentleman who helped me. I truly thank you. Your kindness kept me out of the hospital.

One, if not the best apartment complex I've ever atayed at. Fantastic place, great reception, pool, excersise room and of coarse the room top deck complete with gas bbq. Staff at reception are excellent, would have stayed if I could have afforded a bigger room. Allocated parking and easy access to downtown. Great walking distance to Barton springs pool and park area.

About a year ago the empty nesters sold the house and moved into Coldwater. It was the 4th place we visited and by far the best. The managers and maintenance have responded to our every need. The roof top patio is worth the price of admission and there is no way you could get any closer to everything ATX. I strongly urge you to check this place out and fully understand that the greater demand may increase my rent, but this place really is worth it.
