We’ve had a wonderful experience living at Hanover Republic Square. The building is absolutely stunning, and the views from our apartment on the 28th floor are incredible. The quality of the apartment is outstanding—everything is finished with really high-end materials and thoughtful design. What truly sets Hanover apart is the service. The few times we’ve needed maintenance or assistance, someone came the same day. Everyone we’ve interacted with, from the doorman to the maintenance staff, has been kind, professional, and quick to help. We also want to give a special shoutout to Cassandra, who’s been helping us with our lease since day one. She’s extremely kind, efficient, and understanding, and we’re so thankful for her support. We came to Austin just for a year, and choosing Hanover Republic Square was one of the best decisions we made. We really loved our time here.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE. This building may look high-end, but that illusion collapses almost immediately after move-in. What’s advertised as “luxury living” is actually a constant stream of failures, delays, and dysfunction. From day-to-day essentials to core amenities, nothing here works the way it should. Before anything else, it needs to be said: most of the 5-star reviews are from people who toured the building—not from people who actually live here. Touring this place and residing here are completely different experiences. Once you move in, the reality becomes painfully obvious. Within just five months of living here, we’ve dealt with an unbelievable number of issues—many of them involving basic necessities that should never fail in a so-called luxury building: • Washing machine broken and took two full weeks to fix • AC not working for weeks • Unit front door lock not working • Bathroom sink leaking • Ongoing kitchen plumbing issues • Dishwasher broken for 8+ days and still awaiting a fix • Cigarette butts appearing on our balcony in a non-smoking community • Dishwasher squeaking loudly even before fully breaking • Pool frequently closed or experiencing issues • Fire alarm going off almost weekly, including an incident a few weeks ago where it went off 5+ times in a single day • WiFi not working on the 45th floor • Garage gate failing roughly 30% of the time For a building that markets itself as “luxury,” this level of dysfunction is unacceptable. Essential appliances take weeks to repair, amenities are unreliable, and disruptions like repeated fire alarms make daily life stressful and exhausting. Management consistently fails to provide timely solutions or any sense of accountability, leaving residents to deal with ongoing problems. Do not be fooled by the appearances or polished tours. Living here is nothing like what’s promised, and it is absolutely not worth the premium price being charged. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you’re prepared for constant issues and ongoing frustration.

We had an outstanding experience at this building. I wanted to share our perspective since some prior reviews mention concerns about pricing transparency. In our case, it was the most transparent process we’ve encountered. Pricing online is rent net of concessions. Management provided a fully detailed fee sheet by month, and everything was perfectly in line with how other luxury buildings structure pricing and concessions. For anyone unfamiliar: 8 weeks free is not the same as two months free and base rent doesn’t typically include concessions when you sign your lease. This is completely standard across the market and more transparent than leaving you up to figure out what you might be paying. The building really shouldn’t be penalized for misunderstandings about how concessions work, because they explained everything clearly from the start. A special shoutout to John Hastings, who was incredibly patient and professional throughout the entire process. He showed us the building multiple times, never rushed us, and made sure every question we had was answered thoroughly. Overall, our experience was exceptional. Very transparent, welcoming, and stress-free. Highly recommend!
