The Rail is a great place to live! The property is well maintained, the community feels welcoming, and the location is super convenient. The management team is professional, responsive, and genuinely cares about residents. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, which makes a big difference. Overall, it’s been a really positive experience, and I would definitely recommend The Rail to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-managed community.

Do not live here. I repeat: Do not live here. I moved here when Greystar was the management company, and it went downhill extremely fast when they left. Now to be clear – this is a poorly built apartment. The walls are thin, in my specific unit the cabinets were banged up or painted incompletely during installation, the bathtub had chips and cracks in it that became a whole saga unto itself. Tenants have experienced mold issues that have caused them to lose large amounts of personal items due to poor ventilation. Water seeps through the sealed windows when it rains, and there was a huge crack in the lower level 2 garage after a recent storm in May and a LOT rain was dripping through it. This is not the first time the LL2 garage has had issues; in October 2022 there was also a leak in the garage roof under the pool when I first moved in. It makes you concerned about structural issues with the garage. The community has also become unsafe, and I was relieved to be leaving after 3 years. There have been men sleeping in the mailroom, men who have followed women to the door of their apartments begging for change, many thefts in the garage, etc. It was also extremely common to get emails about how people aren’t paying their rent. If people aren’t paying their rent – email those tenants directly. There are not many pros to living here except that they don’t have a lot of extra fees like for valet trash and the trail behind the apartment is nice. Now for more cons. First of all, they stole $175 dollars from my security deposit for “cleaning.” I left the entire place spotless and have pictures and videos to prove it. I am planning to take them to small claims court if they do not return the rest of my deposit because it’s unjust and against the terms of the lease/law in Texas. The final nail in the coffin for me to decide to fully not live here anymore, however, was dishonesty amongst staff. The bathtub had to be redone multiple times because the vendor they chose did a terrible job. Even at the time of moving out, the tub had still not cured completely and the finish moved when showering. While the tub was drying during these periods of being refinished (and refinished, and refinished) I used a neighboring apartment to shower since it had to dry for 24 hours before and cure for ~72 hours given it was not curing properly. They were coming to refinish it again, so I went to the apartment to shower and it had been leased. Luckily the key didn’t work. There was no communication to turn in the key, etc., and maintenance had said they would tell me if the unit was leased. So I emailed him and said like hey, this unit is leased. The man just straight up lied about having called me and left me a voicemail and had told me to turn in the key. I think maybe he was worried about getting in trouble? But I have proof this never happened. He called me once and left a voicemail saying that they would be by to look at the tub later and he would give me an update. I called him back 3 times that day and he never answered. That was the extent of the calls, so he never called saying to turn in the key. And I also have phone records and the voicemail proving this. All he had to say was sorry – I forgot or didn’t know and I wouldn’t have cared, but the fact his first reaction was to lie rubbed me the wrong way. He had been fine before that, but that whole thing was a red flag. I went through all that for more than three weeks, having to shower on and off for ~4 days at a time in a different apartment and was nice about it (I think) and they still had the audacity to take money out of my security deposit. I would recommend living in any of the other apartments in the area besides this one.
